Excellent location and very spacious, well furnished house with some lovely homely touches such as bottle of wine and homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival. The cottage was very well laid out and spacious for our family including a small dog. We particularly enjoyed the pool table and the lovely sunny courtyard and seating area just off the kitchen. Rothbury had a lot of places nearby to explore including the river walk that extended to the back gate of Cragside Estate. We enjoyed visiting the historical sites of Cragside House and Gardens, Brinkburn Priory, Warkworth Castle and Hermitage, Alnwick, Bamburgh Village and Castle as well as walks on Bamburgh beach and a hike to Linhope Spout. Also had a wonderful pamper spa day at Doxford Hall Hotel that included afternoon tea.

Lovely house and fantastic location for exploring Northumberland. Rothbury is a lovely little town - popping into Greenland bakery at the foot of the town on the way back from the tennis courts was a real treat! Cragside House, on the doorstep was perfect - we've been 4 times and walked the trails. Plenty of public footpaths right from the front door, along the river and up onto the Simonside Hills. Have loved every minute and hope to be back!

Very comfortable house and a great base for exploring the area. Had a good trip out to the Farne Islands from Seahouses and visited several castles. Beautiful scenery - first time in Northumberland and will enjoy coming back!

Star House is an excellent cottage in a great location. Fantastic base for an activity based holiday with riverside walks and public footpaths all easily accessible within a few hundred yards of the front door. Very dog friendly!

Lovely house, great place and lovely walks. Great Sunday Lunch at the Turks Head. People are so friendly - can't wait to explore the area even more. We have loved our time here. Definitely coming again. Thanks for lovely home comforts.
